Program Information

The program is designed to provide graduates with the skills and knowledge necessary to pursue careers as human resources practitioners. The curriculum includes all of the approved courses required by the Human Resources Professionals Association (HRPA) in Ontario to qualify to write the National Knowledge Exam in human resources. Successful completion of the approved coursework and the National Exam are two of the five components required to achieve the designation of Certified Human Resources Professional (CHRP). Educational Path/Degree Opportunities

Co-op or Field Placement
A mandatory eight-week field placement is available to Human Resources students in their third and final semester.

CHRP Designation
The Human Resources Professionals Association (HRPA) regulates the human resources profession in Ontario and issues the Certified Human Resources Professional (CHRP) designation. Completion of HRPA’s certification process confers the right to use the title Certified Human Resources Professional and the right to use the initials C.H.R.P. or CHRP after one’s name (excerpt from HRPA’s website). It is the responsibility of the graduate to pursue certification.
